Pic of the day: Contrary to popular belief, it isn't dark all day
in Norway even in the darkest week of the year. Well, not at the
south tip of Norway, where I live. Nor is the landscape necessarily
covered with snow (and reindeer).
Oh, and that part of the shadow is the corner of my shoulder bag,
which is otherwise hidden. Really.
After my success with Darklands (yesterday) I went on to attack
Master of Magic, the very game that inspired the name of my site,
the Chaos Node. However, this game requires the use of a CD.
And this requires CD drivers loaded in DOS, since the Win95 drivers
for the CD is no longer recognized by the system for some reason.
(This happened one day some months ago.) It might have helped to
reinstall windows 95, but that would require the original CD, which
for some reason was not with the computer when I opened the package.
Then again, I explicitly told the people on the computer shop that
this PC was to play Daggerfall on, and for that purpose it has worked
quite well. In fact, it just might be the computer in the world that
has played Daggerfall the most. Or certainly one of the top contenders
for the title this year. :)
If you think that I run off on tangents in my diary, you may want
to sample GabGabCamCam and a
few of her daily updates. I feel noticeably better after I found
her site. :)
Then again, she has a webcam, which I absolutely couldn't afford
unless I win big in the lottery (not much chance of that since I
don't play). Internet connection is around 1 Euro an hour here
in Norway, that is well over US$1 for you transatlanteans. So
that's why you can't see me typing all afternoon, which I am sure
you would all love.
Oh, and in a few hours I intend to go away for a week of
Christmas Holiday. After
a few hours by train, I plan to spend the time with the Medicine
Woman and her family. Those who need to know where I am, probably
know already. But just in case, I intend to have my mobile phone
on now and then. I may or may not be able to check my e-mail during
this time, but I doubt I will be able to update my diary. (Supergirl
already claims that I spend way too much time in front of the PC.)
So until we (hopefully) meet again: Happy Christmas / Hanukha (sp?) /
Yuletide / Winter Solfest / Epihodoc (Excuse for Partying In Honor Of
Deity Of your Choice).
