Pic of the day: I thank my Lucky*Star for this one... That's the name of the anime in which a bunch of girls speculate on the true nature of reality food, boys and video games. A treasure trove of dubious wisdom. And no, guys don't like going to the dentist just because we like drills. We like drills that drill holes in wood, not drills that drill holes in teeth.

Short: More dentistry

Went to the dentist today again. I was there yesterday (at 9:30 AM both days) and then he replaced the temporary root canal filling with a permanent one. This set me back merely NOK 800 ($150), but today cost me nearly NOK 4000 ($750), probably because he used a lot of different goo and, not least, spent a lot of time. Those guys have insane hourly rates (well, when you don't compare with lawyers) and there is no insurance that I know of that covers such things. (This seems unique to Norway. I understand that Americans have dental insurance and other European countries have public coverage. The reason for this eludes me, but it does not support the theory that the high rates of dentists are an artifact of insurance.)

So yeah, this tooth has so far set me back the cost of a quite good Linux PC, and I still don't have the new one in place. It will probably cost as much or more again before I'm finished. All because of the supposedly healthy breakfast bread with whole grain. Be warned. Henceforth I inted to stick with caramel and chocolate for breakfast at work.
