Nintendo DS Lite + Pets

Going against the advice of my Lord, I eventually caved in to my gadget lust and bought a Nintendo DS Lite. Actually it was a Nintendo DS Dark, despite its name: It was jet black. What's worse, I bought Sims2 Pets for the DS.

The machine is actually pretty good. It is really much lighter and a bit less bulky, it is more stylish, but above all the screen is better. It is clearer and the colors are stronger. While the machine is now more expensive than its predecessor, I would recommend it if you are to buy a DS system. The old could not be used in bright daylight because of the weak screen, at least for me.

The game is actually hopeless. The documentation varies from trivial to just plain wrong. Pretty much all that Nintendogs did right a year ago, Pets does wrong now. I am not even able to pet or brush a dog by following the instructions on the screen. I guess this explains the lack of reviews of this game: The reviewers have probably not gotten it to work, either. Avoid it like the thing dogs leave behind on the sidewalk. To think that I wasted a couple weeks' food on this is outright embarrassing.

You'd think the Lord would not be much of an authority on computer games, but repeated experience shows this to be wrong. Although He presumably does not play them himself, he probably hears thousands of people who say: "Dear Lord, this game is horrible!" If only I had listened. Instead, I became one of them. I regret, repent and recommend you don't get this game even if people throw it after you ... which is not entirely impossible.

I have started playing Animal Crossing again, though, on the bus. I put the old game in the new machine and the other way around.
