I started writing my daily journal in late spring or early summer 1998, but I did not start archiving them until November. To be honest, I don't think that was a great loss. Even now, the first months have bad layout, rambling content, no color coding and bad navigation. I won't recommend starting from day one unless you are seriously dedicated to studying my life. Things get a lot better after a year or so.
The color codes let you see generally what type of entry it is, at a glance. For most of the time they are even used in the calendar, so you can use them to avoid the more (or less!) controversial entries. See the full list here:
