Sims 2: MP week 3 Wednesday

Grady

Hello Esther. How are you holding up all alone in the house?

Esther: I am fine, thank you. I have plenty of time for my studying now. I almost wish I could go to campus with my kids and partake in the fine research facilities there, but someone has to look after the house! And I have the study material right here on the computer.

I see the snapdragon flower is in place.

Esther: Yes, such a wonderful gift. The beautiful fragrance makes everything feel a little better.

Sharpe

Over at the Sharpe residence (Gravel Road 3, for those who think that way) Annie Banks has just moved in, and added a whopping 8000 simoleons to the meager holdings. Makes you wonder why Victor only could come up with 1000. Perhaps because he bought his own clothes, while Annie seems to have borrowed Hannah's outfit. It is certainly similar. You better get some new threads, we can't have two dishwater blondes walking around in that.

Annie: I wonder if I will ever get used to having a talkative invisible angel swishing around.

You probably will. Most sims here consider me part of the family, more or less. They are certainly not excessively reverent, except one or two who still call me Mr Angel.

Annie: Wouldn't excessively reverent be 'your holiness' or some such?

That would be flat out misleading. I am not that kind of angel. It is just a part-time job, and poorly paid at that. All I get is a little fame. Mostly I do it for the job satisfaction.

Olsen

Rory: You better do your homeworkd, I don't want the two of you to end up old and ignorant like me!

Petter: If you are ignorant, how come you always help us with the homework?

Ashby-Jordan

Babiez! Babiez!

Mari: This is all your fault!

I'll be happy to take responsibility when the baby is born. Although I bet it won't look much like me.

Ramsey

Jimmy Ramsey moved into his own house! This is 6 Meadow Road. The neighboring house to the right is 1 Gravel Road, where Esther Grady lives.

Jimmy: It was the closest I could get to my friends.

See? Gravel Road is the fairly short road that connects Meadows Road and Lakeside Drive. It actually crosses Lakeside, but at a lower level. The drop from 7 Gravel road (Roger's place) is already too steep to drive in winter. The current expansion is along Meadow Road, using the same prefab houses that have been so successful in Gravel Road. The Lakeside area is withheld for future larger mansions for the upper middle class. However, with the economy being what it is, this could take a very long time! Hopefully the influx of young university educated couples will help spur economic growth in Micropolis.

Jimmy had a very informal housewarming party with various people who dropped by. There were still another guest and a cat who did not deign to show up for the picture.

Elizabeth Hunter: On the other hand, I am not sure I qualify as "guest".

Elizabeth moves inn with $15 000! Now that's someone who has been planning for the future!

Elizabeth: But of course!

From the looks of you, it is the food money you have set aside. There are almost no hips on you!

Jimmy: You say that as if it was a bad thing.

Tertiary Education

Meanwhile at college, Grant Craft and Alison Grady finally fall in love. It is a very non-dramatic event, since everyone including themselves knew it had to be the two. (Even though it means the population growth in Micropolis will be less than if they had found a spouse each among the innumerable students. Oh well. The happiness of the sims takes priority!)

Grant: Seriously, Alison was the only one I could think of.

Alison: Really, Grant was the only one on my mind.

I get it already. I have five generations to fill Micropolis with people, so don't worry.

Grant: Great, lets go on with making friends then.

Alison: Yeah, don't expect any big public displays of affection right away.

Grant: Hee hee hee!

Oh how evil, putting soap in your own fountain. Next you'll perhaps steal your own garden gnome?

Leon and Hans both love playing, and can be found here almost every free moment.

Leon & Hans: *sing* The distance between us...

Leon: So what do you think?

Sally Carson: Heck yeah!

Because this little stone is so pretty, you'll totally marry a family sim and have 10 babies!

Sally: Don't be stupid! It isn't about the jewelry - he could have given me a blue feather for all I care. It is Leon who is awesome, the ring is just a symbol of our love.

Orville Hopkins, on the other hand, is less successful.

Pretty Dormie: PLEASE! What century are you supposed to be from?

Leon: And that's how Micropolis is going to become a real city, with skyscrapers and all!

I think I'll just give up on this myth and let it live. Against rumors even angels fight in vain.
