In Norway, the birds sing "Quit quit quit!"

No, seriously. We spell it "kvitt" but it's the same sound. (We also write "kvarter" and "kvantum" for instance.) Of course it doesn't mean the same, but it still amuses me.

I also recall Al Schroeder's theory, that maybe the birds at 5AM were shouting "I'm a slave of my instinct and can't stop! Please shoot me now!"

Yes, spring has come to our fair lands, and with it the birds. At the break of day. They also sound a lot like the alert tone of a beeper... Alarmingly so.
