The name Petter is simply a Norwegian version of Peter, but it is anybody's guess how much taunting a little boy had to endure because of it. It may also explain the many, many unsuccessful dates of his youth. Anyway, Petter was the youngest of the Olsen siblings, and never really felt needed. Growing up, he made friends fairly easily, but the friendships were not very deep. Petter was always alone in a way he could not define. Everyone else was living in the future, striving for some kind of goal: To be married, to get a top job, to have children or grandchildren. Instead of doing something that was fun right away, they were always waiting for some super fun that would happen in the future, if only they reached their big goal. The only one who understood him fully was his childhood friend Shelly. That friendship grew into love, and together they kept each other sane in a world where everyone else was rushing toward some goal they could not see.
After college, Petter moved in with his girlfriend, since the Moodys had plenty of room while the Olsen home was filling up fast. It was here that Garrett found a magic lamp that summoned a genie. Something the genie said or did finally made them understand that life could have a purpose beyond having fun. Petter decided to pay back the generosity of the Moody family by using his talent for repairing cars. He has also married Shelly and they have a beautiful girl. But they are still not rushing. Sim life is short enough as is.
