Pic of the day: Lila the Alchemist (right) and Gabrielle (left). Screenshot from Oblivion, ob(li)viously. Fast forwardOn my way to work, waiting for the bus, I enjoyed the smell of freshly cut wood. I remembered that I also enjoy the smell of freshly cut grass. I wondered if there might be some who enjoy the smell of fresh blood in the same way. No, I don't think I've been playing too much Oblivion. This is a typical thing for me to think. "It could have been me..." even when I see some lifeform that is not even remotely human. Like the time years ago when I saw glass jellyfish thrown up on the shore by the storm, and the early sun reflecting in them like small ice sculptures. And I marveled that death could look so beautiful, and wondered if our death might look like that to some entity too, if they were far enough removed from us to not instinctively think "it could have been me". |
