Filler sims revisited

So what happened to the Sims I wrote about two years ago? Actually I came to think of this because as I was reading that entry, my other computer was running that very same neighborhood. As a matter of fact, it was running the 16 room dormitory which I wrote about. Unsurprisingly it now has new students, but some of the stuff from back then is still standing around.

Maren Itland and Richard Cameron moved back to Pleasantview. They married and he took her last name (I have forgotten why). They now have a grade school girl, Renate, who is just as nice as her mother. She is also not as ugly as one could fear with her father being an adoptee. (The game tended to create some really ugly babies for the adoption pool. Not sure if it still does, but it won't happen anymore since I have installed new face templates which has more normal human proportions than the standard sims templates.) Maren is pregnant again with a second child. She both wants and fears having the baby, though she wants it more. Her lifetime want is to have six granchildren. This does not seem overly likely, but two children having three children each is certainly more feasible than one having six. (Although it is known to happen... but sims live briefer lives than we.) They live in the house that once belonged to the Vrimoen family which I used to write about in October 2004.

Melinda Itland and her drama professor reconciled, married and had a daughter who is now herself recently graduated. (I wrote about this some weeks ago. Her parents got estranged due to the professor flirting with others, but grew closer again. The daughter could not forgive him, though. This is still part of the background plot in Greater Pleasantview.)

Melissa Fancey, the former cow mascot, still lives in a small house on the La Fiesta Tech, though she won't be able to stay there much longer. She is planning to move to Summersun Isles, the new mostly black neighborhood with a booming tourist industry because of the good weather. Melissa fits right in as a healthy natural flower girl. (According to her new backstory, she comes from the same area.)

Cara Cameron is still single, living in a small house by herself. She has a lot of friends and has no time for romance, halfway through her adult life. But will she always feel like that? Who knows. Perhaps if I'm still around in two years I'll write more about her? Although it is also conceivable that I may grow up in the meantime...

Stella Terrano and her dormie friend Luc Hurt (I strongly suspect his first name is pronounce "Look") have been living together in a small townhouse since they graduated. Their relationship has been "just friends" for these years, until recently when they showed up at the aforementioned Sumurset Isles as tourists together. (One of my other sims was there and the two of them were among the random visitors plucked by the game to fill up community lots with people.) There the two of them spontaneously fell in love with each other. Better late than never, I guess!

The Itland twins Martin and Mette are still inseparable, and are living together in a fairly large house with their betrothed: Martin did indeed end up with Marsha Bruenig, as suspected. Mette, somewhat more surprisingly, got together with Dustin Broke, the reformed juvenile delinquent. His high school sweetheart, Angela Pleasant, gave up on him when he moved to college. (That would be the Pleasant family that gave name to Pleasantview, I guess.)

Pleasantview has not been overrun with little Itlands, although there are a couple more of them now. Instead, it has added several new sub-neighborhoods and dozens of new townies, and become Greater Pleasantview, town of a hundred fates. Perhaps I should write more about those? It is quick filler, and I suspect that most people would find their lives more interesting than mine. Certainly chaosnode.net gets a large part of its traffic from the Sims pictures.
