Pic of the day: Double the XP, double the fun! Earl and Amiko are keeping the streets safe. (I am pretty sure she is called Amiko. It means something like "Smiling child" in Japanese, I think. In Esperanto it means "friend".)

Double XP weekend

Occasionally the online game City of Heroes has an event called simply "Double XP weekend". Both experience points and influence (the equivalent of money for superheroes) are doubled. This makes it easier to advance the character, for the many players who feel that things are moving a bit too slowly. It could be that the higher levels are just streeetching out, or they may be starting yet another character and already know all the early missions inside and out because they have made fiftyeleven other characters already. Or, like me, they may just show up because there are a lot more people online than usual, so there is a better chance of finding some interesting team.

Lately however I prefer the small teams without strangers and thus without the risk of suicidal idiots. But even more importantly, very lately I prefer Sims 2 over CoH. So there won't be much heroic action this weekend.

It is still a great game though. Highly recommended. It is just that Sims 2 is the best men ever made by men. (Actually, most of the developers are women, from what I hear. But really crazy women, no doubt.) I think I will have double experience by playing Sims 2 on both of my desktop computers instead. ^_^
