Pic of the day: Screenshot from Daggerfall: Early morning in the Alik'r Desert. Guess where I spent my evening. More pussyfootingToday on my way home from the grocer's (the one 25 minutes from the Chaos Node) I met a cat. On a lonely stretch of road - some houses visible, but none quite nearby - there came a colorful and extremely fluffy young cat or big kitten. It looked a bit on the small side for a adult, but not by much. Perhaps it was the cat equivalent of a teenager. As the cat plodded toward me, I stopped walking and looked at it. It stopped too, nearby, and looked at me as if uncertain what to do next. It very slowly circled my feet, fairly close, but without touching me. Then it took a few steps away, rolled over on its back and started to rub against the cold hard road. It was kind of funny: I suspect that upon seeing a nice pair of human legs, it had become overcome by the rubbing urge but was too shy to actually rub against my legs. If you've ever been a teenage male, you probably know the feeling. OK, not exactly, but you get the point. Perhaps I should move into a career of psychoanalyzing cats. There seems to be just more and more of them out there, so there's bound to be a market... ***If you ask me: "Are you a cat person or a dog person?" the answer is no. I find pets unhygienic and disturbing. They carry dubious diseases and shed hairs everywhere. I don't particularly miss children either. But at least children grow out of it and become fully human ... well, more or less. Cats, even though much brighter than dogs, don't converse much, and they cannot even play Scrabble. Humans are more interesting, even though they also often restrict themselves to boring things. I feel sorry for those who lose their imagination when they grow up. At least it seems that most of them are able to use other people's imagination. OK, just snipped several paragraphs about church leaders buying porn and chained animals licking themselves. Let's try to keep this somewhat personal for a change. Today I saw a nice online journal today where this guy managed to stay short and still say something. Sometimes I wish I could do that. (Actually I've seen that journal several times before and it didn't help much, as you may have noticed.) OK, here it is: European Living! Enjoy. ***When not shopping, I spent most of the day in my pajamas. I just wanted to mention it, because I've joined the Pajamas Liberation Front (well, actually more like founded it) and am teaming up with especially Norhtern Californians in an attempt to normalize PJs. At the very least, they're a lot better than nothing. While it would be unthinkable here in Norway to wear pajamas to school, they're still a lot better than nothing. Apart from sleeping and making my favorite dinner (pasta with lots of cheese and assorted herbs), I played Planetarion for a little while. One of my comrades was being attacked while he was logged off, so I sent my fleet to defend his planet. Sadly, the attacker backed out at the last moment. I also played some Daggerfall, as you may have guessed. All this reading about roleplaying had made me hungry for some adventure. Today I played through among other things an entire Staff of Magnus quest with my level 5 Armored Cleric. Normally that quest is just about right for that level (lots and lots of nymphs, a jewel of stamina is highly recommended) but this guy has recently become a wereboar. That makes it all easier. To compensate, I played part of the quest using only hand to hand fighting instead of the nifty Frosty Mithril Mace of Ice Storms that he had recently bought in the Mages Guild. What can I say, I am easily entertained. Think of me as "low maintenance man". (Clone me now.) |
Bright and sunny day! And no going to work! Yay! No work! No work! Woohoo! |
