Coded green.
Pic of the day: They do this a lot. And so do I. I am like a simOK, this is going to sound seriously creepy. In fact, I am not convinced it isn't seriously creepy. Still, it needs to be written down for posterity. Frequently when my sims make food, if it takes more than a few minutes (seconds, human time) they will think of something else that needs to be done, and walk away with their food still in the oven or on the stove. The food will be burnt, if it doesn't outright start a fire. Luckily they have me, their guardian angel. I know of their tendency, so when I see them start preparing a meal that takes more than a moment, I keep an eye on them. When they walk away, I click on the stove and send them back to continue making the meal instead of whatever else caught their fancy. More disturbing, I have done the same thing myself several times over the course of this holiday. I've started cooking something on the stove, then walked off, typically to the home office where my computers are. And then after a while someone clicks on me, so to speak: I suddenly remember that I have to go take care of the food before it burns. I play The Sims 2 almost daily, so perhaps it is only natural that I begin to think in the same terms as them. Still, I am not sure it is a good habit for a human to have, to wander off from the food and trust the invisible overseer to remind me of finishing it. Still, here I am. Not dead yet. But I realize some of you may wonder how long that will last. |
