Pic of the day: Wouldn't it be nice to have someone to press the keys for me while I do something else...

Fast forward

I'm still playing City of Heroes. Actually I have been thinking too, as usual, but I am not sure those thoughts are ripened enought to publish yet. It is in the treacherous borderlands between religion and sociology, where I often wander these days, but where a single misstep may send you tumbling.

Meanwhile, I am playing games as usual. I recently looked at two new games, or rather one new game and an expansion, both in the Civilization franchise. One is called CivCity - Rome, and the name implies that it is a cross between Sim City and Civilization, both of which I used to enjoy. The other is an expansion pack for Civilization IV and is called Warlords. Not a name that appeals to me, but it is supposed to contain a new Protective leadership that gives bonuses to defense. Wait, just checked Wikipedia, all they get is two bonuses to archery and gunpowder units in defense, and double production speed for wall and castle. Not enough to counter the increased aggression, I'm afraid.

More importantly, I already don't have enough time to play the games I already have. Currently I play The Sims and City of Heroes, and I already resent the time I lose in one of them when I play the other. When running a Sim through university I may even play CoH on the other computer at the same time! Can't do that once they have kids, though.

Now if I could buy more time... but the only way to do that would be to cut down my job ratio again. Currently at 90%, I am sure I could trade away the 10% to someone who want more money, more, more. But probably not until I've paid off all the unexpected debt from the botched move this past winter. And in any case, just like some people never get enough money, I would probably not get enough time for games even if I had no job and needed no sleep.
