Oooh! My Iomega zip drive fell down and struck its head, and needed
some plugging, unplugging and several restarts before it worked again.
(Zip drives, for any not in the know, are storage peripherals for
computers and occasionally cameras. Something like a cross between
a harddisk and a diskette/floppy. Nothing like zippers at all.)
Finished reading The Unreasoning Mask today. I was not
pleased with the very end of the book. As I saw there were few pages
left, I wondered how Farmer would clinch the ending. He did not, in
my opinion. While the end was in character, as we say in roleplaying,
it was also (and mainly) cheating the reader. As usual, I guess, Farmer
is better at asking questions than answering.
Seeing as text takes up almost no space, I am re-organizing my diary
back issues to date rather than weekday. I hope to extend the range
of my back diaries, in the vain presumption that some overly curious
soul drop in who is not content with a week of ramblings. I also
consider putting the retired diaries on a page of their own, tentatively
called "The Diary Farm" since that's where they'll go when they buy the
farm.
Winter is drawing near. It's cold outdoors now, on
the verge of freezing.
