Flowering bushes

Pic of the day: Dude, I like totally took some pics too!

Are we having fun yet?

On my day off, I've been running like a dog to have as much fun as possible. I was up as soon as I could get out of bed, and played my favorite computer games and watched anime. On my way to and from the grocer's I kept thinking about my fantasy novel. Fun, fun, fun! Not very relaxing though.

I guess fun can be somewhat relaxing if it makes you forget something that's more stressful (such as work, or an illness). But it is not unwinding. There are ways to unwind, but I did very little of that today. I guess the walk counts. Even when thinking hard, my hands don't clench when I walk. This is bound to be a good thing. (Of course, if I walk much more than this – it's half an hour each way – then my feet will clench instead!)

I can see now why people would want to set aside some time each week to be in church or synagogue or temple. A place where you are required by divine law to not do your own stuff. Where time passes and there is nothing you can do about it. It is God's (or gods') will, after all, so you may as well relax and enjoy it.

Sometimes when I am out walking, I wish I could just teleport to my destination like I do in my dreams. But now that I think about it, I realize that would be a bad thing. Is it not enough that I now have a computer with me on the bus? No sitting with my hands in my lap. (Well, except that I tend to fall asleep every time on my way home from work. Luckily I leave the bus at the last stop, where it stops for several minutes. Even when sleeping I will notice that.)

There is way too much doing something and way too little just sitting there in our time. And even I have been infected.

I think I will take my zombie pet for a long walk in the Avalon hills now.
