Pic of the day: Sometimes it makes a lot more sense to the one who talks than to the one who listens ... (Screenshot from the anime Mahoraba ~Heartful Days~, which is very nice and heartwarming and everyone looks severely underage. Also the reason I use so much anime screenshots for pic of the day is I'm lazy. I take screenshots while watching if I see something that is likely to be useful in a journal someday. Beats going out in the woods to try to find a tree I have not photographed yet... ^^) Random reportI had something to say that I thought would be interesting. But then I did something else first, and since then I have been unable to recall what it was. I am pretty sure it was not about anime... Anyway, weekends are fine because I can sleep during my normal office hours. That's when I am sleepy anyway. My brain isn't a complete idiot: It can't help noticing that each workday, there are seven an a half hour where nothing positive or interesting happens. Of course it will adjust my sleep patterns accordingly. I will now try to throw it off by starting work at wildly different times from day to day. Usually I come around 10:30, but coming sometimes 12:30 and sometimes 7:30 is bound to confuse any low-level brain center. I am pretty sure it bases its work simply on stimulation levels rather than actual understanding. We shall have to wait and see. ***In other news, I've recently started a game of Civ3 and am now in the middle ages. Things are starting to slow down. By the early 20th century it is probably boring enough to put me to sleep. Perhaps I should try that to regulate my sleep patterns. I don't think I have ever finished a game of Civ3 yet, and precious few of the somewhat smaller and simpler Civ2. Actually, now that I think of it, I used to play the Mars Now scenario to fall asleep in the evening. Not the first days, but when I was up to 25+ cities and lots of terraformers. The downside was that my wrist began to hurt after a few days, and it probably will this time too. Even though I use a pen instead of a mouse. The pen is mightier, as they say. (Actually there was one user-defined character in City of Heroes called that, recently. "Pen is Mightier" - except, uh, without the spaces. Any of them. This is where judicious use of capital letters could have made a difference.) ***Anyway, my Five years ago diary was much better than this. Go read it, OK? It's really short. |
