Pic of the day: SMASH speling erorrs! My favorite bottle fairy, the tomboy Sarara. Fast forwardWas on sick leave yesterday, today and will be tomorrow too. Not anything life-threatening, just something that would make it almost impossible for me to actually do my job. Needless to say for those who know me, I found it almost impossible to not sleep through the would-have-been workday. And even when I artificially kept myself awake during much of the office hours, I was still wide awake all through the night. Probably not wide enough awake to avoid spelling errors in my journal, though. Even though I read it through before posting it, there are usually errors in it. If I type, as I do today, they are ordinary errors like getting a letter wrong. If I dictate, as I do sometimes, entire words or phrases may be completely different from what I thought I said, and I still don't notice it. In fact, I keep finding errors in entries from several years ago, even though I read each entry again each year. (I wonder how long I can keep it up... with seven years of mostly long entries, it may take longer to read through the years-ago than to write a new one.) Today I found that I had spelled "with" as "wit" in 2001, and not noticed until 2006. I guess it is because I see what I know should be there, instead of what really is there. If it is the same with the rest of my life, not to mention all our lives, it is a scary thing indeed. |
