Screenshot anime Kyou Kara Maou

Pic of the day: In the anime Kyou Kara Maou, the main character is transported to a magical fantasy world through a wormhole that occasionally appears in toilets, baths or other watery places. My own experience is just slightly less mysterious.

Bathroom wormhole?

This weekend my bathroom smelled strongly of white spirit or some similar paint solvent. But nowhere else in the house is this smell, nor outside. And I don't have any such thing in the bathroom. It persisted for like two and a half days or so.

I wonder if this is related to the recurring phenomenon of voices that sound like they come from directly outside the bathroom, as if people were standing on the lawn talking. They are not, however. In the beginning I would go to the window and check. Nobody anywhere near. This is creepy enough, but with the smell too ... well, it is as if my bathroom has some kind of dimensional door connecting it to another place or time. That's obviously not possible, but there must be some kind of connection. You'd think if it was the drains, I would smell a lot of other things than white spirit. You know what people flush down, and I think I would have noticed that smell.

Incidentally the kitchen is the next room in the house on the same side, and the kitchen sink is right on the other side of the wall from the bathroom sink and the bathtub / shower drains. There is no smell there, and no voices.

But at least I am not being flushed down through the drain to a land full of magic and pretty boys. Yet.
