Coded green.
Pic of the day: So sweet, you could eat them... What is sweet and dark brown?I admit it, this journal is severely delayed. To confess the truth, I woke up early on Friday, after very little sleep. I was horny and could not easily get back to sleep. (Yes it still happens, but not all that often now. Sooner or later that problem will go away forever, I suppose. Anyway, that's not the point. I think.) I got up, even played a little DAoC before I prepared myself for an early workday. (We have flexible hours, especially I.) It was nice to meet guild mates who don't have the opportunity to play during the early hours ... I think it is 9 hours between me and the American West Coast. At work, tiredness finally caught up with me, and much of the day is lost in a haze. (Not that I am supposed to write about it anyway.) I stayed for quite a while too, and came home around dusk. I played a little, fell asleep in my chair, woke up and moved to another chair, fell asleep again. Must have napped for an hour, possibly more. Then I was wide awake, read my e-mail and the long long list of free online comics, as well as our roleplay, and played DAoC until around 3 in the night. Got my first realm point with this character, as I went with a couple guild mates as stone carrier. (At level 23, my character is still useless in war and dangerous in peace. Besides, I hate player killing. I know it is just a game, but I see they don't like it when others do it to them.) We accidentally happened on a couple characters from opposing realms. But the point was to try out a new siege weapon, a trebouchet. It was indeed very niftily implemented. Then I fell asleep and slept for like 11 hours, so now it is the afternoon on Saturday. Sorry about that. ***As I picked up a plastic bag from yesterday's shopping and should fold it neatly until next time, I found a Toblerone chocolate that I had entirely forgotten. And with good reason. While Toblerone is one of my favorite everyday chocolates (after Freia's fruit & nuts), I did not buy it because I wanted it. I bought it because hanging around in the chocolate department of the Mega store let me look at the amazingly beautiful woman who was also shopping there. It is not every day you get to see someone so cute. Not that I wanted her for myself ... let's face it, that wouldn't have been realistic even at the best of time. It's more like I react when there's suddenly a rainbow one day: I am perfectly willing to miss the bus just to look at the beauty until it disappears. There are some kinds of beauty that is always there for you, like fractals. And some who show up fairly regularly, but at their own times, like the full moon. There are some that appear at random but will probably show up again if you live long enough. Like rainbows. Or cute African girls buying chocolate of their own color. I am certainly not dissing the local women, who are world class themselves. I guess if I had lived in Africa, seeing one of them would have distracted me quite a bit too. As I said, rarity enhances beauty. (Otherwise, men married to beautiful women would get very little done!) But personally, I have this irrational liking for chocolate colored women. (This has nothing to do with my originally mistyping this as "chocolate covered". Honest.) Ever since I was a boy and read my grandmother's Misjonstidende (Missionary News), I have considered "black" people particularly pretty. (There were photos of them in almost every issue, if I remember correctly. They were poor heathens, and evidently rather gullible. But I still liked them.) Not that I ever do anything about it, except discreetly look at them now and again until the sun and the clouds move and the rainbow fades into another gray day. But I still have the chocolate. |
Rain, I think, lots and lots of it. |
