Coded green.
Pic of the day: You can probably guess from this Daggerfall screenshot that I'm not in a happy mood right now. This day suckedFirst I overslept by hours. This is nice in terms of sleep, but I don't get paid for not being at work. I came to work after lunch and told the time register computer that I was having a day of vacation today. I have like 12 of those left and need like 1 or 2 perhaps for Christmas. It is certainly better than having the missing hours deducted from my salary, and then have to spend the vacation days on nothing. I should really think about putting those to good use. Anyway, things got worse, because they seemed to get better. ***I left work shortly after closing time, and went to North Corporation where I asked for my computer. I had put it in for an upgrade on Friday morning: To build in a DVD and an internal modem. I told them to test the modem, because I had tried to install an internal modem myself with no luck, and the same for an external modem. So today I paid and brought the computer home. It is possible that the DVD player works, I don't have any DVDs at home right now. But the modem works only fitfully. As soon as the computer is warm, the modem disconnects randomly after some minutes. It may then reconnect again after a while if I try, or I may have to turn off the computer completely. The external modem still doesn't work, though it works fine with the portable. (In fact, it's what I use to upload this.) I spent much of the afternoon transferring various software to the North computer, anticipating that I could finally use only one computer for all my daily activities. Well, no such luck. It is clear that the motherboard is faulty. I will go tomorrow and demand a new computer, or at least a new motherboard. They will probably resist, and I don't know what will happen then. It could get a bit ugly, especially if I don't eat plenty of chocolate first ... (Needless to say, after I wrote this, it's worked like a charm for nearly an hour. Hmf.)
