According to my coworkers, I spent the entire day going around grinning.
This is not quite true, as I did a little work too. But yes, despite
being quite tired as usual, I was feeling good. Rumors
are spreading around the workplace about my upcoming little holiday,
and they probably thought that was the reason. (It probably is, too,
but I can't deny that knowing my friend was OK really felt good too.)
"Are you going far?" one of the guys asked me. "He's going eastward"
one of the girls replied. "I've never seen that smile on his face
when he's travelled in any other direction."
Nobody knows the future; but yes, I intend to go far. This time I
intend to go the second mile.
In other irrelevant news, my glasses have now been gnawing at both my ears. I guess it may not help that I'm waving my ears a lot. You see, my ears have associated muscles that move them independently of each other and the rest of the skin. In fact, I can raise, lower or move my glasses by moving my ears and nose, without touching them with my hands. Hi, I'm not boasting or anything. That's just the way it is... :)
The latest supply of American comics has been severely delayed, but at a competitor I found the old (1993) WildStar miniseries by Gordon and Ordway. I particularly liked it when the new superhero said "I haven't hit anybody since grammar school! But she deserved it! The little creep took my milk money."
Other memorable quote of the day, severely out of context: "orgasm won on technical knock-out" (from the Norwegian magazine Ditt Bryllup). (Uh, Ditt Bryllup means "Your Wedding", but it seems to be a national publication, not a translation of some international thing.) (As for me reading it, I plead temporary insanity.) (As for these parantheses, perhaps it's not temporary after all.)
