Quick update

I'm a day behind on my journal! Ack! If I keep getting later and later, I am going to forget what the weather was! And it's not even like something very special happened this weekend, just the usual stuff. I wonder how people find time to watch TV.

I read in the paper (Aftenposten, more exactly) that Norwegians spend on average about 2 hours watching TV. Men a little more, women a little less. One woman, an artist of some sort I think, told the newspaper that when she did not have a TV, the neighbors were like "Is that legal?" - like in the novel 1984 where everybody was required to watch the propaganda. I guess my neighbors would have been like that too, except I don't have much to do with them. I prefer to meet people sorted by interest rather than by location. It is not as if I need the smell of humans to be happy. I am such an otaku! ^_^

Speaking of the smell of people, I completed another chapter of my latest free fiction. There are really only two scattered chapters and a little backstory. I kinda like this approach, to write just the parts I want to write, and let the rest of the story be implied. No plot, all character! I call it "write like a fanfic". Because fanfics, especially by girls, tend to be like that. It's not like anything important happens ... in fact, nothing important could happen, since it would then be recorded in the book / TV series / anime / comic. So all you can do is look into the hearts of people and tell small stories about them. Writing fanfic is so challenging! But writing like a fanfic with my own characters is fun. The bookmark for the whole story is found here – the new chapter is "Farewells". (It is no good to bookmark individual chapters as their names change as I write more.) It is probably not as good as I think it is, since I know the characters better and can see their facial expressions and such.

Oh, it must be so emotionally painful when you think of someone as a romantic interest and they think of you as a something like a family member! Oh, the angst and crushed hearts and stuff! Oh, the train- wreck entertainment value! Will there ever be a happy ending? Will the main character accept fate at last? Only time can tell!
