Just me

After two weeks, my heel still hurts a bit and the spot is an angry red, although it doesn't bleed or anything. I guess slow healing is part of growing old! :) And my wrist hurts from playing Civilization for Windows rather intensely the last few days. At least I don't dream about it!

Twice during the last couple of weeks I have grown so tired in the evening that I laid down on my bed (as opposed to going to bed in the real night, as I use to). Each time I woke up during the first dream cyclus, from scary dreams about being in Daggerfall. Not playing the quite realistic roleplaying game, but actually being the Daggerfall character. In each case it was dark and I was facing armed human enemies of unknown power. It was not quite nightmare level, but scary enough that I was not inclined to go to sleep again for a while. (There are a couple of threads in alt.games.daggerfall that show this effect to be common in Daggerfall players, but these are the first I can remember.)

Despite no surplus of sleep, a fantasy story is creeping into my consciousness again. I'll probably cave in and write it, until it gets bored and disappears. For those who remember, it is set in my "Magic:" world(s), the same as the story about the highly confused worldjumper Odd Even and the Burning Hand of the Sisterhood of Combat, and the white Gandharvas and the big troll-like Rakshasa. (I now know how that story ended, btw, though the ending was not the best part of it, in my opinion.) The new story features two other unlikely refugees from the World of the Dead God, and is tentatively named Magicians Without Borders (I would have called it "Magiciens sans frontieres" except that it's in English.) As far as I know by now, there will be no main characters in common with the previous story.
