Pic of the day: Time to patrol the town again! This picture is from the silly anime "2x2=Shinobuden", a very cartoony series about stupid ninjas, a spoiled alien and a vaguely lesbian ninja student. Recommended only for an immature audience. It is a fountain of weird screenshots though.

How does time fly! Especially now that I have ADSL again. I suppose it is somewhat like a loving couple separated by unexpected circumstance and then joyfully reunited. In the same way, I have been reunited with the world where I was meant to live. Most notably Paragon City, of course, the City of Heroes.

But before that, I spent some times in the Dark Age of Camelot. This was to exploit the system of free levels in that game: If you level up less than once a week (on the coop server, less in some other realms) you get one level free. However, they do not accumulate: You can't come back after two weeks and get two free levels. You have to work for one to get one free. Now, I had been absent for two weeks, so any level I got would automatically give me a free one. Even so, this flurry of activity soon ceased. The game is simply not as fun as CoH, to me. Although playing the necromancer is still somewhat entertaining. I don't have any high-level characters of this type before, and they are pretty unique.

Soon, however, I decided that I would not spend my free time doing something less than what I most wanted. After all, if I do something just to be rewarded, I might as well stay at work! A fun game is still not worth playing if I have an even more fun game waiting to be played. So I moved on to City of Heroes.

At first I played my Invulnerable Ice Tanker, which is my highest level character. I re-specified him to work with the changes in the Invulnerable power set, and tested this out. I still did not like the changes, but he is definitely playable. After a few days, however, I went over to the Triumph server (anoterh CoH server) where I am the founding father of the supergroup "Zutto Yume Mamotteru", which I read as "Always Protecting the Dream" although Del-Chan translates it as "I will definitely protect my dream" which is even better if true. Anyway, the last few days have been spent with my Fire Tanker. This type is uniquely qualified to powerlevel lower-level players. Usually I team up with 1 girl 2-4 levels below me, and then I wade into a pack of criminals and release my flames. They will do their best to attack me, but being a tanker I can take some beating. Meanwhile my flames, which I have cultivated to the maximum available for my level, are defeating my enemies for me.

My supergroup is all about pairing up (preferably one girl and one boy when possible) and helping each other. Yeah. Electronically. Don't look at me like that, it is not a date as long as you bash criminals all the time. Besides, I don't mind playing the girl if necessary. Before you get too excited, I don't ever do that in real life. Then again, I don't bash criminals in real life either, more's the pity. Given the choice between dating beautiful girls and setting muggers on fire, there is no contest. Yay fire! But being protected by cat-eared girls wielding black magic is a welcome bonus, of course.
