Pic of the day: The movie is rather pastel ... picture from the sequence where the song is first played, aerial of the farm where the girl Tsubasa lives. Figure 17 theme songThere is a new anime up on this site AnimeSuki where I found the Guu series. This new series, Figure 17, is not as colorful in any way. It is more pastel, quite girl-o-centric, with not too well integrated space alien battle scenes. OK, it could have been worse. But still. I would probably have stopped following it if the music had been horribly bad. But the music is really good. The theme song that is used to highlight poignant parts of each episode is hauntingly beautiful, to the point where I just want to listen to it over and over again. Luckily I can do that. I suddenly remembered that I still have my MiniDisc player, as well as a MiniDisc recorder in the stereo. So I connected the stereo to the PC (I usually just use headphones) and recorded the song, as well as the intro and exit songs from Hale Nochi Guu. I could need it. In the night before, I was assailed by frost. It is in fact cold outside, but this frost seemed to come from inside. I've seen worse, but I got hardly any sleep. Even at work it was noticed that I did not look too well. Luckily there was simple work to do this one day. And I had brought my tiny MiniDisc WalkMan with the beautiful music on. I played it on the bus too, but then I slept most of the way. And I played it when walking, which was the best. But it was really cold outside. Have I mentioned that I really really liked this song? It got no words, which is a good thing. It is not full of rhythm, but is flying like a gliding bird, rising and falling without all the flapping of wings. And I want to fly with it, high up and far far away. Or at least write a novel. I guess the two are equally likely. But I just keep dreaming, don't I? |
