Pic of the day: "So deep a longing" - book 18 of "Kingdom of Light". Deep frozen werewolf I did it again. I had an appointment with my dentist today at 10, but for some reason I had managed to convince myself that it was after lunch. Aaargh! I have to learn not to make appointments before lunch, when my brain wakes up. The rest of the body works well enough alone till then, as long as nothing unusual happens. Very little unusual has happened otherwise. Amanda went home from work early yesterday, so I got some sleep (nearly 6 hours). Yay sleep! (Though I would probably have stayed online chatting with Amanda if not. Yay Amanda too!) I went to work, which wasn't too bad either today. Scribbled a bit more on my novel in progress, still the Thaumaturge story. I seem to have painted myself into a corner right now, as the leading female character and Brad Pitt are surrounded by a horde of excited mall-goers. Hmm. I guess I should reconsider the Brad Pitt thing. But I don't know how to spell most of those people. And I just don't see her going out with Cindy Crawford. Hmm, now there is an idea... *** This city has a frustrating lack of good male pajamas. (Pajamases? Is it one pajama, two pajamas? And if so, what in the world is one pajama because I have never seen less than pajamas.) Surprisingly it seems that the women have a better choice. That is just not fair. It's this way with daywear too. They have all the dresses and skirts and such, and they still have to have a larger selection of trousers, jeans etc. Only in business suits and ties can we still compete, and who knows for how long. On the bright side, I still have the money I would otherwise have spent on new clothes. It may be useful later in the year. *** Perhaps I didn't get quite enough sleep this night either. Because on my way home from work today, I saw a most surprising sight in the supermarket where I shopped for food. In the frozen goods division I suddenly saw a box of VARULVER (werewolves). On closer inspection, it turned out to be VÅRRULLER (spring rolls). You can't imagine how glad I am to know this. The idea of fileted werewolves in my local supermarket was highly disconcerting. |
