Tech failures

We're having technical difficulties, please stand by ...

For the weekend, file upload access has been spotty at best. Most of the time the FTP has not been working at all when I have tried. Also the ADSL itself has had trouble, though it has worked overall except for a few hours when it was stone dead. The connection light was shining, but there was no response from the machine. I logged on with dial-up via a competitor and checked Telenor Online's pages to see what was going on, but there was no mention. It's back now, though. But there are still pauses of up to half a minute where nothing seems to happen. For some reason it does not happen when I play DAoC. My best guess is that my connection is put on the back burner when it is not used constantly, and the bandwidth allocated to other users. Then when I request something, I am put in the queue. But guessing is all I can do, as they don't tell.

I also failed to transfer the ticket confirmation mail to Cassie the handheld PC. I thought I did it. But when I wanted to go get my tickets during the lunch break, the mail wasn't there. That's probably a human error, though.

We're experiencing severe technical problems with some services at work too, but I am not supposed to write about work so I'll stop here.
