Writer's unblock

Today was the first non weekend day of my mini vacation. I take a few days off work, not going anywhere, just like a weekend that does not end at the usual time. I still stick to the bread and jam, and pain in my side is moving and lessening. We shall have to wait and see though.

You see that yesterday I wrote about the imaginary world I was making. Today I went there. I know no better way to say it.

Before, I had vaguely glimpsed a couple of young teens watching as a wagon came in from the fast road, laden with magic wood from a faraway nature node, wood that was destined to be used in the "Bow+5" weapons I mentioned some days ago. But when I looked closer, the wood was lost among all the other wagons. The place where the enchanted road touched the city was like the quays of a port. And the three teenagers I found there were all quite eager to star in my story. Before my eyes, they showed personality and a family and a history and secrets that not even I know yet.

I kept writing and writing, and somehow my wrist managed to stick with me for all of 4 pages of single-spaced text. Admittedly the dialog helps, so it is not 4 jam packed pages, but still it is a long chapter for me; I tend to use short chapters usually. But the muse in my head just kept pouring it out, and I just kept writing. I knew only in the vaguest online what would happen next, and some of what I knew proved to be wrong.

The right side of my back hurt when I got up this morning, and it was kinda surprising that I was able to write this much. (2261 words, not counting edit while writing.) I doubt I can write this much often. I have to face it, my hand is never going to recover. I will always be impaired. Since it does not affect my performance in my current job, there won't be any other effects than this, that I have to treasure every page I can write on my spare time.

I will continue to write a little more tomorrow, but I don't plan to keep up the same production. Instead, I plan to spend the evening testing a highly unofficial add-on for Morrowind: Laura Craft, Morrowind Girlfriend. She sings, she dances, she kills! More about that later, if all goes well. And if I manage to tear myself away from my writing. I better do, or my arm will likely regret it later.
