Leaves

Pic of the day: Proof that spring has indeed arrived.

I looked away; spring came

On Saturday, I went to the city to buy some writable DVD (which I still haven't used, by the way). In the bus I sat carelessly, and my back started to hurt when I got off the bus in the city. It got worse during the day, and for the next couple days I stayed indoors, unable to walk without quite a bit of pain. Meanwhile, spring came outside, while I was inside.

Here in Norway, the Monday after Easter day is a public holiday. So I did not go to work until today, not that I think I would have tried even if I could. But now my back is much better and improving steadily. And as I walked home from work, on a warm sunny spring afternoon, I looked at the green leaves that had certainly sprung out. I like to think they did so on Easter morning. But what matters is that spring has definitely come.

Of course, spring has been in the air for quite a while. Days have grown rapidly longer up here in Norway. The women have grown steadily prettier. I am not sure how much of this is due to their clothes (or lack thereof) and how much is in the eye of the beholder. Even a believer has hormones at times, at least for as long as it lasts.

I was at work till about 18 (6PM). Then again, I did not arrive until ca 10:30, so it was just about a full day. Now I don't work full day anymore, having cut down by 10%. But I have worked a bit less this month, and besides this is easy harmless work. Due to the dubious deal of secrecy I won't say more than that, but it's good to be out of the office and see the green leaves and the sunshine.

My hand hurts as always at this time of the year. Typing always hurts it, but doubly so at work. Consequently, I'll stop here. Besides, I've got nothing more to say. Spring speaks for itself.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Forest fires are raging in Norway this spring, because of the dry sunny weather. Compatriots, please have a care with fire.
