Coded green.

Pic of the day: The sign represents the home planet. This is very useful when you zoom further out, as we hopefully will see in some future pictures soon. Eating up my night, the game shall have to pay with some pictures!

Fast forward

I reached the star phase of Spore yesterday. The game is quite absorbing, but not quite as fun as you would believe from that. The documentation is poor and the online help is poor, the game is not always intuitive (though perhaps it is to its younger target audience). Several times before getting this far, I was close to putting the game away because I could not find out how to progress in a new part of the game.

But I think it was worth it, to see the star-studded galaxy. I don't know, ever since I was much younger, space has filled me with a kind of "home" feeling, as if I believed that I came from there long ago. I am not the only one, I heard the same from one of the guys who ran a comic book shop in Kristiansand a decade or two ago. But it is probably not something everyone feels. And I am in no hurry to go up there in real life.
