Pic of the day: From a screenshot in The Realm. Guess which one of the characters is supposed to be mine. :)

Another pretty common workday, except that I showed some not too bad digiphotos to some of the girls at work. I conscientiously skip pictures that I deem unflattering to others than myself. There were still some left.

I've taken the other zip drive back to work. I practically never used it anyway. Well, I did transfer one floppy with some of my favorite fiction on to a zip. (The floppy drive does not work in my new machine, and I won't try to repair it again if I can avoid it. Due to my previous experiences, opening a PC to repair it makes me break into a sweat even in winter.)

There's a new 250 MB model of the Iomega Zip drive now. You may have seen the ads, "Hello cruel world". Well, let me tell you one thing. I've been using Iomega since the days of the 20 MB Bernoulli Box (and I still have one, if anybody feels like doubting me). Already then they bragged about how their technology was more reliable than anything else, while actually the platters degraded fairly quickly. The same holds true for their zip drives. Sure, these last much longer than the old bernoulli boxes, but are far inferior to ordinary hard disks. The bragging goes on, but in my experience it's just bluff. If you have really important data, save it on something that's not from Iomega. On the other hand, their stuff is cheap and comfortable, which is why I use it a lot.
