Pic of the day: Screenshot from Daggerfall, new dawn over Ayasofya. As seen from a rooftop by the reformed Axe Murderer, finally on his way home after his long pilgrimage through the Alik'r Desert, following his near-death experience and miraculous healing in the Temple of Stendarr, which led his life to take a new direction. Puh! I suspect this is the reason that I've practically stopped writing fiction ... I play it all out in computer RPGs instead. In Darklands now I have this totally cheesy love story running. I'm not entirely sure the world is going to be much worse for the lack of my fiction, which I tend never to finish anyway!

I still have this dark red sore on my heel from the jogging shoe incident on friday. I guess I had expected it to fade away in three days. Oh well. If I'd live in one of many other countries, it'd be flies on that sore instead of antiseptic salve and sterile compresses. Then again, I'd probably not had jogging shoes at all. I guess I shall be satisfied as long as I have life, limbs etc. I am aware that not all people have all of those. Yes, I do think, occasionally even of others. I just don't do much about it. After all, most of the time I have myself a lot closer at hand than anyone else.

During the afternoon, my nose and eyes have practically stopped running. I've been gobbling C and E vitamins (most C) and went to work today, despite being totally pickled and with some headache. I hope I have not infected anyone - I tried my best not to.
In other news, I'm going to lose somewhere around kr 1000 (ca US$ 125) off this months pay, due to sick time and the unfortunate circumstance that one of my bosses ("administrative office leader" would be the least cheesy translation) forgot that we have a flexi-time zone of 10 hours which we can work in later, sort of like a credit limit only with time instead of money. On the bright side, I'm now on the plus side for a change. :) I am certain that it was no ill will from this elderly man's side, but rather inexperience. He got the job as a reward for long and faithful service in a totally unrelated line of work, which in no way prepared him for this. (If any of you have not read Parkinson's laws, consider doing so when in a good mood. The man may have been bitter but he could write.)

Anyway, it just so happens that although I'm "low-paid" by Norwegian standards, I have all I need and my daily pizza too. So I think I shall not miss a few Euro for one lone month. :)
