Greenhouse effect

Nothing special about this picture. Except that it's from Norway, and it's January 1st. Norway, like in snow. Ski. Skating. All that stuff. Now, however, it's Norway like in jogging. I could actually go out in just my jogging suit and not freeze any parts off. If this is the greenhouse effect, please give us more of it.

On the other hand, or rather foot, my Oasics jogging shoes gnawed a hole in the skin on my heel in the course of only a couple of kilometers. Right down to the red stuff under. I put on some antiseptic salve and a small compress, but next time (if any) I guess I'll put on the compress before putting on the shoes in the first place. Disgusting.

I also washed some clothes. Naturally this was no success either. Despite being a man, I actually managed to wash only black clothes together (one benefit of having more clothes than I once had) and no wool. I happily returned after a while to my automatic washing machine and found the clothes absolutely soaking wet. The last part of the program, which should whirl the poor things reasonably dry, had not worked. I restarted it, and it still didn't work. I suspect the machine is starting to break down, and it's only a couple of years old. Naturally I haven't saved any proof of purchase, receipt, or anything like that. Oh well.

Not that this is going to drag me down to a lower state of energy, of course. Life is good. I have food, I have clothes, a dry and warm place to live and play, I sleep well at night (when, or if, I finally get as far as to bed). I have money to pay my bills. And I even have friends, it seems. I got a few e-mails today, all of them nice. Thank you!

Bright blessings to all my friends out there
(whether or not I know you yet), and a happy new year!
(And a harpy new year to my friends from alt.games.daggerfall! :)
