Sims 2: MP week 3 Tuesday

Grady

Esther grew lonely with both of the kids in college, so she invited her sweetheart Ray over. Shelly tagged along.

Shelly: Hey, angel person? Can I ask you something?

Sure!

Shelly: Doesn't it creep you out when old people act like teenagers? I mean, what if they don't get up from there?

That would be a wonderful and poetic way to end their days, don't you think? But don't worry, they are both quite spry.

Shelly: I don't know... it is just kind of icky. Like a dog humping your leg, you know. It is just not natural! Like someone has crossed some wires in their brains.

Ray: You can never guess who I ran into yesterday at the coffee shop! You remember Jimmy? Jimmy Ramsey? He was there with a girlfriend, and they were all lovey-dovey! I saw it myself!

Shelly: A girl? Srsly? I thought he was batting his lashes for the other team...

And I think you've misunderstood that metaphor. Hopefully that will change with Hobbies. I can hardly wait to introduce some sports to this community.

Craft

Antoinette Mannings came home from school with Linda, but a quick look with Angel-Vision shows that her real interest is elsewhere in the family.

Antoinette: What? Who? What is this voice?

Greetings! I am the angel of Micropolis! So, you are interested in joining one of our illustrous families perhaps?

Petter Olsen: What do you mean your father is not married yet? There was this big wedding, right?

Darius: Brother, not father! Grant and the neighbor girl have been squeeing over each other since we came here, and they STILL haven't gotten together! What is wrong with people who can't notice someone else's feelings?

Sharpe

Marcus: Man, I'm beat! I know people can't help when they are getting sick, but going to work before dawn is just so different from what I'm used to from college. At least I can take a nap now.

Just not too long, because you are going out with Annie tonight, remember?

Marcus: Oh skittles, that was tonight. It is one thing after another!

One girl after another, you lucky boy.

Marcus: I guess something happened that made me realize how important you were to me...

Annie Banks: Mari got engaged to Victor, right? I don't know whether to gloat or cry.

Annie: I think you were the only one who didn't see this coming.

Marcus: I was an idiot, wasn't I?

Annie: Love does that to us, I guess.

Annie: From now on, it is only us, right?

Marcus: Until death do us part.

That may seem remote to you, but for me it is only a few evenings. So get on with the wedding ASAP, okay?

Mari: There go my super handsome babies. Darn.

Victor isn't exactly Dr Doom either, you know, and he is nicer than Marcus and very neat.

Mari: I could have one with each and then we could compare...

Olsen

Hey Andrea! I see you are fixing the shower. None of the menfolk that could do it?

Andrea: What are you, some sort of conservative or something?

Just friendly teasing. But it's not exactly the kind of job you'll be likely to do as an educator, I think.

Andrea: What kind of teacher can't fix their own shower?

You would be surprised.

Rory: A lot of empty beds these days...

Well, Leon should be back before you see off Andrea. So hopefully it won't be more than this. Who knows, he may still find someone too.

Rory: Then there's me, of course. I wonder how long I will still be here.

You are holding up great!

Rory: I must, for everyone's sake. But my days are weighing more heavily on me.

Ashby+Jordan

There is no going back now. Mari Ashby, do you take Victor Jordan as your lawfully wedded husband and all that jazz?

Guess they did, after all.

Mari: Shut umph

Mari: Mmm, this could get good...

Victor: Angelic presence, are you still there?

Yes! Always!

Victor: Well, don't be. We can do this on our own.

That's what you believe. Some decisions are too important to leave to sims.

Mari: Shoo! Shoo!

Try for baby, Victor! Try for baby! *fade to black*

Moody presents: The Free Press!

Today let us follow Garrett Moody to work. Actually, it is one of his off days, but since he is a freelance photographer now, he stops by The Free Press. This small publishing house is a grassroot initiative, providing a small income for those who work there, and yet another way of building community for the people of Micropolis.

So Garrett, what are you doing here on a fine Tuesday like today?

Garrett: What does it look like? I'm working, that's what I'm doing.

Some kind of article, it looks like.

Garrett: I'm editing the web page. Wait, angels can't read?

In my world, I can read quite well. But your script is different ... I can see that you are writing, but I can't read it.

Garrett: Well I'll be bugeyed! You learn something new every day. So even angels aren't perfect!

I like to think of it as your world not being perfect.

Of course, not all are taking the work part so seriously.

Mari Jordan: It's a baby! Hi baby! Wheee bibblibibblibooo!

These wonderful computers from Monique have the ability to make people in the room randomly write articles for money. Takes a few clicks to set up each time you visit, but then you get realistic scenarios like this.

Rory Olsen: What? Are you talking to me? I just made a little salad. It is good for the digestion, you know. We have to consider that part when we reach my age.

I wasn't really talking about that, but I'll pass on your advice.

Craft 2

The first burglar in Micropolis! This is a situation that tends to bring people out of balance, so it is good to see that someone keeps his priorities straight...

Roger: Gayle sure looks good when watching cops and robbers!

Hot girl & girl bondage! OK, not so hot, but it was the only interesting thing that happened all day.

Tertiary Education

I don't think I have shown just how different college is from the small hamlet where the kids grew up. The large building houses 49 students and two employees, offering the students large airy rooms. The lower building has much smaller rooms but superior study facilities. It is currently home to 81 students, though there are rooms not in use for safety reasons. With a total of 130 students, the two dorms utterly dwarf the small population of Micropolis. For now.

Hans Olsen moves into the cramped dorm where his brother lives, although he gets a double-sized room in exchange for no windows.

Hans: There is nothing intrinsically wrong with electric light. Anyway, if I hadn't taken this room someone else would have had to move out. I wouldn't want that. These people are my future customers after all!

Pam Grady moves into the airy dorm where her sister lives.

Jimmy: Welcome to Tertiary Education, Pam! Do you remember me? I am Jimmy, Jimmy Ramsey.

Pam: Of course I remember you! We actually have a lot in common. It is too bad you are graduating at the end of this semester.

Pam then proceeded to follow him around for most of the semester. I love their expressions here.

Jimmy: You think this is fun, angel?

Yes. Hilarious, actually.

Pam: Hi ho, hi ho...

Just before graduationg, Jimmy leaves for Flatland for a date with Elizabeth Hunter, whom we have seen before. Here, he proposes engagement, the next natural step in their relationship.

Jimmy: (What am I doing? I'm not ready for this! I need to get out of here! I need to pee now!)

Don't be such a baby. It is your duty as a man!

Elizabeth: Ooh shiny!

Jimmy: (It is over. All is lost. I am trapped in a burgeoise heteronormative small town fantasy forever.)

At least it is ethnically diverse. Anyway, I can see that you have two lb of attraction to her. Your elaborate martyr faces may impress the casual onlooker, but not one who can open your very relationships panel!

Elizabeth: (That was suspiciously easy.)

Graduation!

Jimmy: Yes! Finally my real life begins!!

The distinction between college and real life is an important one to make. Those who fail this, risk tenure.

Meanwhile, Leon Olsen finally goes out with Sally Carson, the girl he befriended on his first day in college. They have a wonderful date filled with love and happiness. And no martyr faces whatsoever.

Leon: Mmmm...

Sally: Mmmm...

On that positive note, we (finally) end this year's roundup. Whew!
