Signed lease

Today I took the bus to Nodeland, where my new home is to be. I met again the lady we talked to when I first looked at the house; she is the mother of the current owner. Her mother was there too, she used to live in the house until some months ago. She left many things there, a few of her own and more for her grandson. The two of them were busy clearing out of there, and we shared the despair over how things seem to breed as soon as you turn your back, filling all available space. They put much of it in the basement and loft, which are off-limits to me. They would spend the weekend clearing out the place and cleaning it again, poor souls.

We talked for a while and eventually signed the lease agreement. They had not changed their opinion, I am happy to say. Perhaps they will when they read on the Internet the real reason why I was not allowed to rent that other place... but hopefully not. I did say that there was just not room for all my things in that tiny apartment, which is true. I did not mention the theory that I would destroy the house, or the other words that were uttered in desperation. I knew time would show me right on this. I may be not be a neat person, but I know myself better than that. As do the people I have rented my old apartment from for 21 years. I think she should call them if she is in doubt.

Be that as it may, the lease is signed. And I intend to do my best to make sure none of us regrets it.
