Pic of the day: My character now has clothes, and expensive ones too, all because I was home sick. She should be so thankful for my suffering. (A suffering that I tried to make as small as possible.)

Temporary pain

I got up today and there was this strong pain in my lower right side. I immediately thought of appendicitis, but the pain was too low and too much to the front, and there were no other symptoms like fever or nausea.

As I could barely stand or cross the floor, I skipped work again. It might have been different if I could drive from my door and sit at my desk all day long. (Not that this would be good for me in the long run. But for one day it would have been fine.) Walking for about an hour, plus roaming the long and winding corridors, was simply not an option.

Sitting was virtually painless, which I much doubt it would have been if my appendix had been inflamed. So sit I did. In front of my computer. But I didn't write anything deep. Instead I played my Morrowind alchemist.

Alchemy is really powerful in Morrowind if you just know the trick, which is to seek out the obscure reagents to make a Fortify Intelligence potion. With a high intelligence, you can make better potions, including a better Fortify Intelligence potion, and so you can make even better potions ... only the scarcity of raw materials limit this path.

In the real world, there are no general healing potions. More's the pity. Luckily, in my case the pain receded during the evening, and was almost gone by midnight.
