Late sunset

It got late.

Ooops!

No diary today because I spent the evening reading the online comic Acid Reflux. Some thoughts about it below, but by all means read it and make your own.

God is a small girl, and the universe is an ugly pet with indigestion. No, that's not our God and our universe, but the premise for the strange and slightly girly online comic "Acid Reflux". This one brings the comedy back in comic strips, and it does so in a rather family friendly way. There is some violence, but it is stylicized RPG type violence. We always feel the main characters are reasonably safe, not least because they've got God on their side. Quite literally, as one of the main character is a small goddess who inherited the universe from her older sister. It was neglected and in bad shape. She sets out to fix it the way only small girls can fix a world ...

Despite the small god premise, this is not quite a kiddie comic. There is a lot of youth humor, of the boy meets girl type not least, but it is not lewd or offensive. All in all it's a light and upbeat story, with the exception of the squirrel parts which stand apart both in graphics and content. While still not "adult", they are less light-hearted and more tense, with a disturbing undercurrent as if the writer is trying to say something else through the story. But with a story line like "bite club", it is still firmly in the realm of light fantasy.

If you have not read it yet, I recommend that you start from the first strip and read a few of them. The art improves through the series, and when it doesn't improve it still grows on you. Also it takes a little to get the storyline started. OK, start here...
