Over at Icon, the superhero tailor in Steel canyon, we saw a familiar
face. MiniMistress has generously allowed an interview, exclusive for
the Chaos Node.
Magus Andlit: Please tell us a little about yourself.
MiniMistress: I am MiniMistress, a level 9 technology illusion/forcefield
controller.
MA: Can you explain this for our readers who have never been in the
City of Heroes?
MM: Sure. Illusion means I can make the mobs see things that aren't
there and not see things that are there. It is like hypnosis but with
technology working on their brain. This blue jewel on my cheast is an
ultra advanced brainwave broadcaster. It can blind people or give them
imaginary pain. Enough of it and they pass out for real. I can
become invisible too, like this.
MA: Impressive. But isn't it overkill to have a force field when you
are already invisible?
MM: Haven't you read your history book? You cannot fool all the people
all the time! Especially when you attack them. That's why I need a
velocity-redirection field. Besides, MindMistress has one.
MA: Yes, about the name and obvious likeness...

MA: Isn't it limiting to use someone else's character concept? How
does it fit into the City of Heroes?
MM: It is surprisingly good. This combination is ideal for soloing
missions. Lets say I get a mission to arrest Scorcher and his crew. I
make myself invisible, walk unseen all the way to the boss room. Then I
convince Scorcher that his lieutnant is me. He toasts him and then goes
on to the rest of the crew. I can make some of them attack him too. When
they are all down, I blind him and cut him down with imaginary attacks.
That's it. Mission bonus here I come!
MA: But you don't have the Catwalk or the plane, I forget the
name...
MM: Swift thought? Actually I'm working on getting flight built into my
armor. It won't get up to the blinding speeds of swift thought, but it
is always handy. But I wont have access to that technology until security
level 14.
MA: Have you had any problem with this power combo?
MM: Yes, I run out of missions too fast. Thats because I solo all the
time. Sometimes I have to team up just because I run out of missions.
MA: One last thing, what's with the hair? Mindmistress has no
visible hair, it's inside the armor.
MM: I tried but it looked horrible. You just cant get all that hair
inside a tight armor like that. And it would itch like mad. And hair is
s.e.x.y!
MA: Speaking of which, r u a grl irl?
MM: Are you a dark elf in real life?
