Ernest Ramsey is a very nice young man. As a boy, he always tried to live up to his mother's high expectations. He soon excelled in school, and as a teen maxed almost all his skills. (The last was perfected in his sophomore year in college.) He was also a frequent user of the large telescope before Orville Hopkins was abducted. As a teen, Ernest was in love with his friend Jean Austin, but they did not make much of it, as they were both preoccupied with their studies. Ernest and his friend Bob Jordan are planning to become game designers, with Bob working more on the art side and Ernest on the programming. Ernest graduated in 52 and was still going out with his high school sweetheart Jean Austin, who was also his classmate through college. They moved back to his parents' house, and married in 53.
